Cape Finisterre ( / ˌfɪnɪˈstɛər /, [1] [2] also US: /- tɛri /; [3] Galician: Cabo Fisterra [fisˈtɛrɐ]; Spanish: Cabo Finisterre [finisˈtere]) is a rock-bound peninsula on the west coast of Galicia, Spain. [4] In Roman times it was believed to be an end of the known world.

If you are west of Santiago a trip to the Faro de Fisterra is definitely worth while. Just be aware you will probably not be by yourself, as it is an extension of the Camino de Santiago and there is a lot of pilgrims still doing the 80km+ stretch from Santiago to Fisterra. There's a little restaurant and hotel at the Faro, a souvenir shop.
